Which is why I subjectively believe they are fairly priced(not cheap, nor expensive) but that depends on the consumer. If you are speaking of the Origin Store, then EA does set the price - however, whether it's ridiculously over-priced is completely subjective, I personally think all DLC is over-priced to a degree due to how the Base Game almost always has over 10 times the amount of content a DLC adds at sometimes the price of almost half the game(that's ridiculous) but when it comes to The Sims franchise it's pretty understandable in my opinion - Expansion Packs add allot of content(more than previous Expansion Packs), they're $50 where I live and half the price of the Base Game($100), Game Packs are $30 after being reduced from 50 and then 40 again and they add allot of new content, as for Stuff Packs they are half the price(Actually 75% of the price where I live since Stuff Packs for TS3 cost $20 now) - $15, although they add less overall stuff in comparison to TS3 Stuff Packs, they add additional gameplay and are cheaper than many Store Sets that have far less stuff. Well the price of the game outside of the Origin Store is determined by the Store, so if it's a physical store's prices you are complaining about, then that isn't EA's fault. You'll still make profit and honestly you'd probably make more money because people can actually buy those dlc's. I think $20 for your big dlc's and maybe do $5-$10 for your smaller ones.

I remember when dlc's used to cost way less then this for any game with the same amount of stuff you put out. It's a successful game so dlc's are released, but then you charge us $40 for the the ones that are actually good and give a new play experience. Why is everything ridiculously over priced? EA is just milking their franchises.
